On 26 and 27 November 2025, the Russian State Art Library (RSAL) will host the 14th International Scientific Mikhoels Readings Conference. The theme of the conference is “National Theatre in the Context of Multinational Culture.”
Particular attention will be paid to informational, library, museum, and archival aspects that open up new prospects for research in the history and development of national theatre art. Participants will discuss intercultural interaction, theatre connections, the history and current state of the national theatre, as well as issues of source studies, and the documentation of heritage.
We invite specialists from libraries, museums, archives, institutes, bibliologists, theatre scholars, cultural scientists, historians, and postgraduate students of specialised universities.
For the readings, 20-minute reports and 10-minute messages are scheduled. The library will provide technical support for the presentations. Online individual presentations are possible.
A collection of scientific articles will be published following the conference. Owing to the reconstruction of RSAL’s main building, the conference will be held in the Small Hall of the Library of Foreign Literature, 1 Nikoloyamskaya St., Moscow.
