The exhibition, prepared at the beginning of the school year, presented books for students of art schools, colleges, and universities.
The nearly 200 books shown in “Art Lesson” were published over the past decade and reflect the most relevant topics of study. Not only are they traditional textbooks and manuals, but also books that contain training, workshops, and master classes.
The most valuable exhibit is of the only two copies of reference books for choreographers from the rare book department: The 4th volume of the History of Dance by Sergei Khudekov, which miraculously survived a 1918 print shop fire, and Dramaturgy of Ballet by Yuri Slonimsky, issued by Leningrad Typography in June 1941.
