Project CD “Russian Military Uniform”

 The first stage of the project has been fulfilled. Its result is CD “Russian Military Uniform”.

The CD given is a unique illustrative iconographic material from the RSAL stocks with a guaranteed system of search and printout of the materials.

 The library stocks comprise the comprehensive material on the Russian military uniform over the period from 1550 to 1995. The RSAL iconography stocks hold the collection of the Russian military uniform in all of diversity of its history, periods, arms of the service, etc. This material is often used when producing both domestic and foreign plays and films on historical plots.

 On the CD the whole illustrative material is represented by the works of the following painters: P.Rudakov, G.Verne, L.Belousov and a group of painters joined by A.Viskovatov.

The CD reflects the stages of the Russian uniform development.

All the images in the DB are presented by separate files in Jpeg format with 300dpi resolution.

IRBIS, a system of computerizing libraries, which has been developed by the State Public Scientific Technical library, is used.

According to the format of the records built in the structure, the entry includes the indication of a military unit, the years of putting it in service, the years, up to which it was used in the army. The commentary contains such details, as the rank of servicemen, the use of the given uniform (the full dress uniform, field dress, winter dress, etc.), and the drill.
