The Presentation of the Methodological Recommendations “Creating Virtual Exhibitions in Libraries” Was Held at RSAL
On 13 February 2024, the presentation of the methodological recommendations “Creating Virtual Exhibitions in Libraries” took place. The authors/compilers, RSAL specialists E.S. Rubanova, N.M. Kashurkina, and A.V. Kulaeva explained about how the work on the manual was conducted, about the importance for the authors to present the material so that it would be intelligible for people with various levels of technical knowledge.
They also talked about the structure of the methodical recommendations, the glossary, formed specially for this edition, and its specifics.
E.S. Rubanova, Visual Information Centre specialist, and A.V. Kulaeva, programmer, told the audience about the importance of the terms of reference when working on virtual projects, how to properly interact with librarians and technical specialists to jointly achieve high-quality results in the implementation of the conceived projects.
The topic of virtual exhibitions in libraries is interesting and relevant for many library employees. In the context of general digitalisation, virtual exhibitions have become an integral part of the cultural and educational activities of libraries, thus, the questions of colleagues about adaptive website layout and the methods of creating virtual exhibitions for people with visual impairments were relevant. Those in attendance were able to purchase the methodological manual.
