Nazim Mustafayev is known as the owner of one of the world’s largest collections of shoes and shoe accessories. The collector is an old friend of the Russian State Art Library (RSAL), where his exhibitions and meetings are held.
On 14 September, Nazim Mustafayev introduced his new publishing project ‘The 18th Century. Costumes and Shoes’, as part of a book about shoes and their important accessory—the buckle.
His presentation was a fascinating excursion into the 18th-century world of shoe fashion, where the buckle played the main role. The story was accompanied by rich video material and the display of exhibits from his personal collection: several pairs of shoes and several dozen buckles—true works of art.
Those gathered that evening were able to become acquainted not only with interesting facts about the ‘life of shoes and buckles’ in the 18th century, but also to examine the exhibits from Nazim Mustafayev’s distinctive collection.
