On 27 February, a regular meeting of the Artist’s Book Club was held online. Such topics were discussed as book illustration in England and France, as well as fiber art (specifically wool) and its synthesis in the artist’s book.
Dmitry Lebedev, researcher at The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, made a detailed comparative analysis of work with illustrations in England and France. Information about the influence of Japanese art and antique vase painting on the development of illustration in England and France in the 19th-20th centuries aroused great interest among guests of the club.
Fiber art specialist Alyona Raikher discussed how contemporary artists work with textiles to create original artist books.
