On 23 September 2020, Inga Kallagova presented her book, IMAGE AND STYLE. The Influence of Psychological Types on the Evolution of Fashion
Inga Kallagova, PhD Technical Sciences, designer, and fashion forecast analyst, introduced the guests and readers of the Russian State Art Library to her book, which she has worked on for 20 years. The new edition is the result of the in-depth study of the history of fashion in relation to the style of each historical period.
Knowledge of this pattern, taking into consideration the characteristics of each country and its national preferences, makes it possible to make scientific forecasts regarding the development of fashion, which is important for various categories of professionals working in the industry.
The author also spoke about the first attempts to identify the pattern of repetitions and interpretations of fashion undertaken at the beginning of the 20th century, before the First World War, when a theory appeared about the correlation between the length of women’s dresses and the country’s economy. Later, researchers examined fashion from various historical and ethnic points of view, the assumed influence of famous persons on fashion, and suspected commercial conspiracies by major brands.
Inga Kallagova introduced the audience to the spring 2021 clothing collections that were recently shown by foreign fashion houses. The fashion analyst’s comments generated great audience interest.
