On 8 October 2020, a meeting with Alexander Mazuritsky, PhD Pedagogy, Professor Moscow State Linguistic University, and author of Libraries During the Great Patriotic War, was held at the Museum of the Reader of the Russian State Art Library.
The well-known librarian gave a lecture on “War and Cultural Monuments”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism. Alexander Mazuritsky spoke about the destruction and plundering of the USSR’s valuable cultural assets by German fascist invaders during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), the tragic fate of the most valuable museum collections during the war, and the existing problems of finding stolen works of art.
The lecture was accompanied by a display of rare photographs and videos.
