The Gasprinsky Republic of Crimea Tatar Library Opened an Exhibition from the RSAL Collection
On September 12, the Gasprinsky Republic of Crimean Tatar Library (GRCTL) (Simferopol) hosted the presentation of an exhibition from RSAL’s collections ‘Clothing of our Ancestors. Graphics of the 18th-19th Centuries.’
Museum and library specialists, art historians, creative intelligentsia, and library readers gathered for the opening. High marks for RSAL’s exposition were given in the speeches by GRCTL Director G. Yagyaeva and the specialist of the Information and Library Resources and Culture Education Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea E. Ablaeva.
In presenting the exhibition, Yekaterina Shumyantseva, head of the Cultural Programmes Department of RSAL, spoke about studies of the Crimean Tatars' art of the 1920s, in which the first director and creator of RSAL, Alexander Fomin, participated with his student, the famous ethnographer Usein Bodaninsky.
