The International Library Poster Competition Victory Forever Has Opened

The Russian State Art Library and the Library Assembly of Eurasia (LAE) Invite Participation in the Victory Forever! International Library Poster Competition

The contest runs from 1 May to 30 October 2026, with the aim of preserving the memory of the feats of heroism by the peoples of the USSR, perpetuating the contributions of various nations to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, fostering respect in young people for the historical heritage of various nations, and stimulating creative exploration of new visual solutions in poster art. Participation is open to specialists from LAE member libraries.

Mission of the Competition: To clearly demonstrate the sustainable and consistent work of LAE member libraries in preserving the historical memory of the Great Victory as a significant part of their professional activities.

The contest is being held at the initiative of the Russian State Art Library (RSAL) as a follow-up to the All-Russian Library Poster Competition Victory Forever! held in 2025, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The competition accepts library posters dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Entries should reflect the specifics of libraries: the role of books and reading during the war, the contribution of librarians and libraries to the preservation of culture and support for the front, the importance of historical and fiction literature in the preservation of the memory of the Victory, and memorial and educational projects of libraries. The jury will include representatives of national libraries, renowned cultural figures, and artists.

Specialists from LAE member libraries are invited to participate. Posters may be created either by hand or using graphic editing software. Entries may be submitted in any language (provided a Russian translation of the poster’s text is included with the application).

The Russian State Art Library is the contest organiser. Submissions will be accepted electronically from 1 May to 30 October 2026, sent to bisk@liart.ru (with the mandatory subject line Library Poster Competition). Only one poster per applicant may be submitted (including those created in collaboration).

Results of the competition will be announced at the General Meeting of the Library Assembly of Eurasia. Winners will be awarded diplomas, special prizes, and books. Winning posters will be published by the Russian State Art Library as a set of postcards and distributed electronically to libraries for commemorative events.

Detailed participation requirements can be found in the Competition Rules.
