‘To the RSAL, with respect – Yours, E. Kochergin’, thus Eduard Kochergin inscribed the catalogue of his anniversary exhibition, which took place in 2007 in St Petersburg.
The album contains stage set models, costume sketches, and drawings by Kochergin for performances staged by directors Georgy Tovstonogov, Yury Lyubimov, Lev Dodin, Kama Ginkas, and many others. A retrospective of the famous set designer covers his career from 1960 to 2007.
The second edition of ‘Inna Gabai. The Theatrical Costume’ was published in 2020 thanks to the support of the family of the famous costume designer—Eduard and Alexander Kochergin. The selection of pictorial material went on for an entire year, and the memories of directors, actors, and artists were recorded. Fifteen museums, libraries, and theatres provided costumes and photographs. The two valuable editions dedicated to a great, interesting theatrical period and its two outstanding masters are now available to RSAL’s readers.
