"Art to help the arts"

On 3 November, the ‘Night of the Arts’ Was Held Online at the Russian State Art Library

Date: 18.11.2020

A virtual tour of the exhibition, the Carved Toys of Bogorodskoye, and an online interview with the Founder of the Toy Museum Alexander Grekov, introduced the history of the origin and development of Bogorodskoye toys and the technology of their production.

The virtual exhibition ‘Nose to Nose, or How We Draw Gogol’ presented a creative laboratory of young artists—students of the Russian Institute of Cinematography—and showed the creative process for sketches of historical costumes.

The online lecture ‘War and Cultural Monuments’ by the well-known library historian Alexander Mazuritsky revealed unknown pages in the tragic fate of the most valuable museum collections during the Great Patriotic War, and the search for and return of stolen works of art.

Lovers of modern theatre expectantly watched the one-man show, AntiWagner, online and discussed its premiere, which took place at the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theatre.

Fans of classical theatre became acquainted with the first virtual project of the Russian State Art Library’s (RSAL) Museum of the Reader and were able to discover what has connected RSAL and the Maly Theatre for nearly 100 years.

The Night of the Arts programme is available online in social networks and on RSAL’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6WLgL6oE3AXa7uxQOPJe1A and website http://liart.ru/ru/.
