In late April, the J. H. Yandiev National Library of the Republic of Ingushetia (NLRI) was the venue for the conducting of enlightening and educational events by the Russian State Art Library (RSAL), dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Republic of Ingushetia.
Opening the programme, Director of NLRI Radiama Gazdieva described the long-term cooperation with colleagues in RSAL and the invaluable assistance received in developing the National Library of the Republic of Ingushetia and in forming its collections.
RSAL Director Ada Kolganova, in introducing the extensive exhibition for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, “The Volga Frontier in Cultural Memory,” noted the participation of the Ingush people in this great battle. The exhibition presented materials from RSAL’s collection about the Battle of Stalingrad in periodicals and literary, theatrical, artistic, and other historical documents.
Ada Kolganova donated to NLRI about 1,200 copies of art books and albums from RSAL’s collection, as well as publications issued by RSAL. In turn, the Minister of Culture and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Ingushetia Maret Gazdieva presented books and albums issued in Ingushetia for RSAL’s national repertoire collection.
An important event was the conclusion of an agreement between the Russian State Art Library and the National Library of the Republic of Ingushetia signed by the directors of the libraries. The agreement opens up great opportunities for expanding the interaction between the libraries; participation in various joint projects; and scientific, methodical, and educational activities.
