RSAL at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress
The annual IFLA World Congress—the International Federation of Library Organisations and Institutions was held from August 24 to 30, 2019 in Athens, Greece. ‘Libraries: Dialogue for Change’ was the main theme of the event.
RSAL Director Ada Kolganova and Deputy Director Inna Vaganova joined the Russian delegation of the largest international library forum and took an active part in professional and cultural events, business negotiations, and the establishment of new international contacts.
During the days of the congress, a presentation on the history and innovative activities of the Russian State Art Library was shown at the stand of the Russian Library Association. During the exhibition, the booth was visited by more than 3,000 conference participants.
In Athens’ Polis Art Café, the highly successful Russian evening dedicated to Alexander Pushkin was held. One of Pushkin’s most famous poems, ‘I Loved You,’ was performed in 23 languages. The Polish reading was given by Ada Kolganova.
