From 27 October to 17 November 2016, held in the RSAL’s Blue Hall was the exhibition “Beauties of the Dymkovo Settlement,” which continued the exposition series, “While Not Forgotten. Golden Ring Handicrafts.”

The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Museum and Exhibition Centre On Spassky in the city of Kirov. More than 60 copyrighted Dymkovo toys, bright, elegant clay figures, were transported from Kirov’s exhibition centre. For the first time, Muscovites were shown the original sketches from the collections of artists Alexei Denshin and his wife, the famous craftswoman Ekaterina Koss-Denshina.

The exhibition was supplemented by material from the RSAL collection: late 19th-early 20th century photographs, postcards, books, and periodicals about these examples of folk art from the Vyatka region. The pearl of the exhibition was the unique 1917 album about Vyatka-region toys by Alexei Denshin with 50 lithographs hand-painted by the artist.
